CVE-2026-89755 - mm/migrate_device: clear stale mapping after freeing swapcache

CVE ID :CVE-2026-89755 Published : Sept. 11, 2026, 7:46 p.m. | 33 minutes ago Description :In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/migrate_device: clear stale mapping after freeing swapcache __migrate_device_pages() reads the folio mapping before calling folio_free_swap(). When folio_free_swap() succeeds, the folio is removed from the swap cache, but the saved mapping still points to swap_space. Passing the stale mapping to folio_migrate_mapping() makes it use the mapped-folio path for a folio that is no longer in swapcache. It can then operate on swap_space.i_pages with invalid reference accounting, eventually triggering a folio reference count BUG. After a successful split, nr still contains the number of pages in the original large folio, although each resulting page is now a separate order-0 folio. Reset nr to 1 so each split folio is processed separately, including its own swapcache removal and mapping lookup. Refresh the saved mapping after folio_free_swap() so the current folio state is used during migration. CVE-2026-89754 - mm/pagewalk: fix stale walk->action escaping walk_pmd_range()

CVE ID :CVE-2026-89754 Published : Sept. 11, 2026, 7:46 p.m. | 33 minutes ago Description :In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/pagewalk: fix stale walk->action escaping walk_pmd_range() If ->pmd_entry() sets walk->action = ACTION_AGAIN, the pmd_none() check is retried. The PMD entry may be cleared at the point of retry. In this case, if walk->ops->install_pte is not specified, the code continues to the next PMD entry in the range without resetting walk->action to ACTION_SUBTREE. This leaves walk->action erroneously set to ACTION_AGAIN, which is incorrect. This was incorrect but not problematic up until commit 3b89863c3fa4 ("mm/pagewalk: fix race between concurrent split and refault") which updated walk_pud_range() to check for walk->action == ACTION_AGAIN upon walk_pmd_range()'s return, causing the PUD walk to be retried. In this case this results in duplicate walk callbacks being invoked, which is erroneous and will break any caller that is not idempotent with respect to this (and waste time for those which are). The result is an out-of-bounds write, triggered by a local fuzzer: [ 2.272695] ================================================================== [ 2.273471] BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in __mincore_unmapped_range+0x14f/0x190 [ 2.274302] Write of size 1 at addr ffff888008d9b000 by task poc/106 [ 2.274966] [ 2.275154] CPU: 0 UID: 1000 PID: 106 Comm: poc Not tainted 7.2.0-rc6-00429-ga7c7074b58d2 #55 PREEMPT(lazy) [ 2.275159] Hardware name: QEMU Ubuntu 24.04 PC v2 (i440FX + PIIX, arch_caps fix, 1996), BIOS 1.16.3-debian-1.16.3-2 04/01/2014 [ 2.275164] Call Trace: [ 2.275170] [ 2.275172] dump_stack_lvl+0x53/0x70 [ 2.275200] print_report+0xd0/0x630 [ 2.275210] ? __pfx__raw_spin_lock_irqsave+0x10/0x10 [ 2.275219] ? irqentry_exit+0xd2/0x670 [ 2.275224] ? irqentry_exit+0xd2/0x670 [ 2.275226] ? __virt_addr_valid+0xef/0x1a0 [ 2.275239] ? __mincore_unmapped_range+0x14f/0x190 [ 2.275242] kasan_report+0xce/0x100 [ 2.275245] ? __...

CVE-2026-89752 - mm: memcg: stop reclaim when a limit update is superseded

CVE ID :CVE-2026-89752 Published : Sept. 11, 2026, 7:46 p.m. | 33 minutes ago Description :In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm: memcg: stop reclaim when a limit update is superseded kernfs serializes file operations only per open file, so separate open files can update the same memory.high or memory.max file concurrently. Both handlers store the new limit before synchronous reclaim, but continue to use the writer's local target in the reclaim loop. If another writer raises or removes the limit, the first writer can continue reclaiming toward a stale target. For memory.max, this can leave the writer looping indefinitely once reclaim retries are exhausted. The OOM path sees sufficient margin under the current limit and returns true without killing, while the writer still compares usage against its stale target and records another OOM event. Check the current limit at the start of each reclaim iteration and stop if it no longer matches the writer's target. Reproducer: Populate a cgroup with anonymous memory and disable swapping. Lower memory.max from one open file, then restore it to "max" through another open file after the new limit becomes visible. Without the patch, the first writer remains blocked and repeatedly increments the OOM event counter. With the patch, it returns normally. This was not motivated by a reported production workload. We found it through automated randomized testing for our cgroup observability work and reduced it to the reproducer above. CVE-2026-89753 - mm/vmscan: report RCU-tasks quiescent states in shrink_lruvec()

CVE ID :CVE-2026-89753 Published : Sept. 11, 2026, 7:46 p.m. | 33 minutes ago Description :In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/vmscan: report RCU-tasks quiescent states in shrink_lruvec() I am seeing some rcu_tasks stalls in the Meta fleet during reclaim. Involuntary preemption is not a Tasks-RCU quiescent state, so the reclaiming task never reports one and becomes a holdout. CVE-2026-82617 - Apache OpenNLP, Apache OpenNLP: ReDoS / stack exhaustion in RegexNameFinderFactory built-in EMAIL and URL patterns

CVE ID :CVE-2026-82617 Published : Sept. 11, 2026, 5:50 p.m. | 28 minutes ago Description :The two built-in name-finder patterns exposed by opennlp.tools.namefind.RegexNameFinderFactory - DEFAULT_REGEX_NAME_FINDER.EMAIL and DEFAULT_REGEX_NAME_FINDER.URL - contain ambiguous nested quantifiers. An application that obtains these finders through RegexNameFinderFactory.getDefaultRegexNameFinders(...) and then applies them to untrusted text through RegexNameFinder.find(String[]) or RegexNameFinder.find(String) can be driven into super-linear backtracking or into unbounded matcher recursion by a small crafted input. For the EMAIL pattern, a long run of local-part characters that is never followed by an @ forces the matcher to re-scan to end-of-input from every starting offset. Cost grows quadratically with input length: an input of approximately 32 KB consumes several seconds of CPU in a single find() call and returns no match, and each doubling of the input multiplies the cost roughly four-fold. For the URL pattern, the query-string sub-expression nests a capturing repetition inside an outer repetition. The JDK matcher recurses once per query token, so an input of approximately 4 KB containing many &-separated tokens exhausts the thread stack and causes java.lang.StackOverflowError to propagate out of find(), terminating the calling thread. On a thread created with a smaller stack (for example -Xss512k, typical of server worker pools) approximately 1 KB is sufficient. In both cases an attacker who can supply text for analysis can convert a single request into seconds to minutes of pinned CPU, or into an abrupt thread death, denying service to the embedding application. No authentication, special configuration, or model file is required beyond the application having selected one of the two built-in finders. This issue affects Apache OpenNLP: from 2.0.0 through 2.5.11; from 3.0.0-M1 through 3.0.0-M5. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.5.12, or to 3.0.0-M6 for ...

CVE-2026-81909 - Concrete CMS 9 through 9.5.2 is vulnerable to Missing Authorization in the orphaned-block alias route, allowing an authenticated editor to disclose and force-delete arbitrary blocks

CVE ID :CVE-2026-81909 Published : Sept. 11, 2026, 5:49 p.m. | 29 minutes ago Description :Concrete CMS 9 through 9.5.2 is vulnerable to Missing Authorization in the block alias route (Process::alias() in concrete/controllers/backend/block/process.php).It does not verify that the referenced block is genuinely orphaned on the target page, nor that the caller holds any permission over the source block. A user granted only an area-scoped add_block_to_area delegation on their own page can therefore pass any block ID on the site: the source block's content is duplicated into an area the rogue editor controls, disclosing that content, and the original block is then force-deleted in the same request, destroying arbitrary site content. The Concrete CMS security team gave this vulnerability a CVSS v4.0 score of 5.9 with vector CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:H/UI:N/VC:N/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N. CVE-2026-67211 - Apache OpenNLP: OOM DoS via Unbounded Array Allocation in SymSpellModelSerializer

CVE ID :CVE-2026-67211 Published : Sept. 11, 2026, 5:49 p.m. | 30 minutes ago Description :OOM Denial of Service via Unbounded Map Pre-Sizing in Apache OpenNLP SymSpellModelSerializer Versions Affected: - 3.0.0-M4 - 3.0.0-M5 (The opennlp-spellcheck extension was introduced in 3.0.0-M4. Releases 1.x and 2.x do not contain the affected code.) Description: The SymSpellModelSerializer.create() method reads two 32-bit signed integer count fields (unigramCount and bigramCount) from a binary SymSpell model stream and passes each value directly to LinkedHashMap.newLinkedHashMap() after validating only that it is non-negative. No upper bound is applied, so the count is fully attacker-controlled when the model file originates from an untrusted source. A crafted .bin model file in which either count field is set to Integer.MAX_VALUE (or any value large enough to exhaust the available heap) causes the map to be pre-sized to a capacity of 2^30 entries. The oversized backing array is allocated on the first put() into that map, requesting 4–8 GB depending on whether compressed oops are in effect, and the load fails with an OutOfMemoryError. Because the count fields sit immediately after a fixed-size header (magic, format version, three UTF strings, the configuration fields, and the edit-distance identifier) the attacker pays no meaningful size cost to weaponize a payload: a file of well under 100 bytes plus a single real entry is sufficient to crash a JVM that loads it. Any code path that deserializes a SymSpell model is affected, including SymSpellModels.deserialize(InputStream), SymSpellModels.fromBytes(byte[]), classpath model loading via SymSpellModelResolver.resolveByLanguage(String), the CorrectTextTool command-line tool, and model-archive loading through the registered ArtifactSerializer. The opennlp-spellcheck extension ships in the official OpenNLP binary distribution. The practical impact is denial of service against processes that load SymSpell model files from untru...
